1918 War Cake

In Year 4, we have been learning how to make 1918 war cake.  This was a fruit cake, containing sultanas, raisins, cinnamon and cloves, which was popular one hundred years ago.  Before we made it, many of us thought that we would not like it. We had to write and follow our own recipe for this, having seen it being demonstrated by Mr Rodgers first.  Once we made it, we had the opportunity to taste the cake.  Many  of us thought that it was delicious and we look forward to making it at home!
